Which would be harder to work on the timeline?

This could be a very vague question (if so, please forgive me), but I was just curious as to which would be harder to work with on a timeline (playback/preview) using AVCHD:

1920x1080p 30fps @ 17Mbps
1280x720p 30fps @ 21Mbps

Still trying to understand all this and I don't know which is trump in that situation. Resolution or bitrate?

Yep, the difference in data rate is nearly inconsequential. Heck, plain scummy ol' DV is 25mbps and ancient 700MHz P3 computers could handle that with no problem.

The issue is that after the frames are decoded, 1920x1080 has 2.25 times as many pixels to manipulate as 1280x720. That's where the hard processor work comes into play.

Ok, good point. Wasn't thinking about DV being 25Mbps. Duh.

Let this one die.

Thanks.
