why are my mpgs not as smooth as avis? am I missing something

ok, when I render out as avi and resample slow-mo it is very smooth. However, I cant get it that smooth in the dvd templete for mpg - what am I doing wrong?

I've had trouble with this as well. I have found that rendering to .avi first with resample frame rate of all video selected. Then render from that .avi to .mpg seems to be smoother.

but still not as smooth. I find that going to AVI then MPG still leaves some choppy video at times. There has got to be a way to get smooth mpgs (as smooth as avis)

This is just a thought. When I have rendered to DVD compatble MPG2 using VBR I found my slow pans (I do photo montages) to pulsate. I fixed this by going to CBR. Hope this helps in some way.
