Why can't I add additional Events

Can anyone help please. The problem I am having is, when i try to add a second video event to the timelime the event I already have in the timeline disappears and all i am left with is the event i have just added. Whatever i try I cannot get 2 separate video events in the timelime at the same time. Sorry for asking such a basic question. I assume i must be missing something, probably very simple. Can someone please enlighten me.

Hmmm. You mention timeline and trimmer. They're two separate items. You can only have one clip in the trimmer at a time. You can have as many clips on the timeline as you wish. Try just dragging multiple clips right to the timeline and see what happens.

Thanks for your reply. I am not using the trimmer. All i am trying to do is put 2 clips in the timeline. I have the 2 clips in the same folder and they are both vf files, I have explorer open and the files are shown together I highlight them both by holding the control key down in the normal way but when i drag them up to the timeline only one is added to the timeline not both clips. If I then drag the second clip to the timeline on it's own this will then appear in the timeline but the first clip has gone so I only have the second clip in the timeline. If I then drag the first clip the second will disappear etc etc. Seems a very basic thing to do in an editor but it's beating me.

Ah-ha!

.vf files are not video clips. They're entire projects you have saved. You can only have one project open at a time. Media clips will be files such as .avi, .mpg, .mov, .wav, .mp3, .jpg, .png, etc. You need to use the files that went into the .vf files, not the .vf files themselves.

The full version of Vegas allows you to "nest" saved project files on the timeline and include multple files, but the Studio version doesn't.
