Why can´t import Canon A70 video

Why I can´t import some footage, that I´ve taken with canon A70 (digital still camera) and then transfered to my pc via usb, traight to vegas, without first exporting it from quicktime player or some other program that can play it. Before that recoding vegas recognizes it as an audio track only, while windows mediaplayer and quicktime player plays it normal.

You need to install the proper codec for Vegas to use. Do a search and you will find free one's mentioned. SonyEPM has provided a link many times.

Your camera use m-jpeg format. To import to Vegas you will have to convert to mpeg format. I am assuming that you want to do the video for web streaming because max res of your camera on capture format is 320.
If you have XP-use movie maker to render to mpeg mode and then import to vegas.
