I'm not complaining per se. But it is annoying to have purchased both ACID PRO 3.0 and Sound Forge 5 which both work fine on my WIN 98 machine, only to find that I will have to plunk down another $100 to upgrade my OS in order to use a lite edition multi-track editor.
I just want to know why exactly it will not work with the original WIN 98 and is there a know hack to get around this requirement. I am not scoring video, I only want to use the multi-track functions strictly for audio.
I have access to a copy of WIN 98SE, but I really don't want to go throught the hassle of installing a new OS - especially one that came with another PC.
Is there a file or files that can be copied from the CAB files of 98SE that will fool the installer into thinking that I have 98SE? And more importantly, will this actually work?
And while I'm asking for the impossible, when is XFX4 coming out - you know, the one with the filter that will rip the data off an audio CD and seperate the instruments back into 24 tracks?
