Why does my 3d object black out my video when I duplicate the tracks?

I have an animation just like I want it, but I need two more of the same thing on different trax. I thought that a great idea would be to copy the parent/child the replace the photos. But when I duplicate the p/c the video disappears below. What am I missing here?

Does your animation have any transparency?
If not the tracks underneath have no way of showing through.

If so, at a meeting with some of the guys in Orlando we played around a little and found the best way to overcome it is, like in the post ,to put a blank video track above, then make the 3d tracks all children of track one.
