Why does Neo Scene lower the audio?

I just did a 2 minute 1920 x 1080 AVCHD test clip. I imported two versions of the clip into VP9; the first using the latest version of Neo Scene, and the other importing the same clip using the Device Explorer in Vegas. I must say that the Neo Scene import played flawlessly even on best full preview, while the Device Explorer version stuttered with choppy playback. However, while I was impressed with the NeoScene playback, I noted that it had dropped the audio volume by about 25% compared to the DE version. Any clues as to why this might have happened?

I have the same problem using AVCHD Upshift plugin from the VASST plugin site. The audio volume is noticeably downgraded. The video quality is excellent. The AVCHDUpshift has an option to save the audio as a separate wav file. And in that wav file, the audio is at full volume. The problem is, I now have to put both the video and audio separately into the timeline. Not only that, the when I drag the audio wav file into the timeline, it is adding 6 audio tracks (presumably one for each channel that the camcorder recorded from its built-in mic).

Neo Scene uses any compliant AC3 filter installed on your PC, and if one is not found we recommend the AC3Filter.net download. An older version of AC3Filter had shifted audio levels. Download the latest from AC3Filter.net which will help, as there is a control panel that effects audio levels. Neo Scene itself stores audio as uncompressed, so we don't mess with the levels once it is given to us.
