Why does Vegas Pro 15 delete autosave files?

If I go into my Vegas Pro 14 folder I have a bunch of autosave files that I can use if Vegas crashes to restore the project but for some reason that doesn't work in Vegas Pro 15, the autosave files are deleted when you close down Vegas Pro 15 which makes no sense to me, especially since it crashes just as much as the previous version...

I've modified the autosave setting to save every 30 seconds to counter the crashing issue but that doesn't help much if I can access the autosave files.

You might want to look at AutoSave which will save backups automatically every "x" minutes into multiple locations (both the current folder and a backup folder) with a date/time stamp added to the file name. It is free and is installed when you install Excalibur.
