why is track motion disabled?

I'm using Vegas Pro 8c with a regular video track and a second track with stills to put over the video as a picture-in picture.

I've used the track motion function to resize and reposition the stills as needed. For some reason sometimes I can no longer use track motion on the still video track. I can go to the main video track and use it, or add a new video track and move it around, but not the still video track, which manipulated fine before. This happened on one other project recently too.

The still track that was moved and resized is now back to full screen and does not move or resize when I do the usual things.

Is there something I changed or clicked on to disable track motion on this track? The prevent movement/prevent scaling buttons and all are like they were to begin with, not locked.

Check your track motion keyframes one at a time by zooming the timeline (use the mouse wheel to zoom) to see if by accident you have an extra keyframe somewhere that is causing the problem. I don't think you can disable track motion. Somehow you have set it back to full screen.

Thanks xberk, I'll check that.

Last night I left Vegas rendering a project to an external drive, and when I came back it appears the power on the external drive blipped or something so the render didn't finish and Vegas hung up.

The Vegas project now has the problem with the previously saved track motion (PIP) not working. I inserted a new video track, copy and pasted the still track to it, and applied track motion again. Then deleted the old track.

So my issue might be caused by Vegas not properly finishing a project - I'll look for this as a common factor if it happens again.

Rendering again now, this time to the desktop - I'll wait and move it to the external drive when it's done ;)
