Why Script

What do people think will be the main reason for using the script engine?

Is it ...

1. automate repetitive tasks (useful macros)
2. create stand-alone utilities (EDL editor)
3. integrate with other desktop apps (i.e. Excel)
4. web apps (?!)
5. something completely different

All you suggested and more. The sky is the limit.

I think this is the most valuable and important addition to Vegas4.

To me it's 1. and 2. - giving both same value.
Creating macros and utilities are great, big time-savers.
