Why this ?

Why hen i insert IFO file, DVDA want to recompress VOB attached to the IFO, if i insert VOB directly it doesn't want to recompress, i ask this because i have DVD image with 4 vob (1 Go each) and i want to create button for scenes but i don't want to recompress (an already dvd format file) during hours. When i select the IFO DVDA load and merges the 4 files ... it 's OK but i don't want to recompress.
Any idea ?
Thanks

DVDA is primarily designed to accept MPEG-2 and AC3/PCM files created by Vegas.

If you want something that can manipulate IFO's and VOB's, then my suggestion would be to look around for a product specifically designed for that purpose.

That being said, if you click on Optimize in the prepare dialog, what does DVDA say (if anything) that it doesn't like that would cause the recompression?

DVDA says it's not DVD compliant Mpeg file asset contains graphics.

Nero does this easyly, but i can't create intro media with it. I am looking for a program wich handles DVD format files (vob) but with rather sophisticated menu creator and with ability to create an intro media.
I have downloaded demos (including the expansive Adobe encore) but didn't found. If someone knows a such program....
Thanks

At a minimum then (and I think Rob has already suggested this), you should demux your audio and video streams from the VOB file(s and not use the VOB's directly. VOBedit will do the demuxing for you.

This might not apply, but just to make sure (because I made this mistake the first time I looked), before clicking on the Video or Audio tabs, make sure you highlight the Video Title (not the menu)...

Thanks to all,
Sorry but i am a beginner in the DVD creation. Video is a complex domain with all these formats, and all these parameters in each formats.
Thanks
