Why won't Sony Answer me?

I bought the DVDA software upgrade for my Vegas 4.0

DVDA installed fine (including registration) but won't run. It says:
"Sony DVD Architect 1.0

The application could not start.

Please ensure that you have enough free memory and system resources. You may want to try rebooting your computer and re- installing the application.

Error code: 0x8004e00a, Startup code: 2"

I rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled with no programs running. It still doesn't work.

I have left several emails to Sony via their support request page over a period of 2 weeks and I have yet to hear anything at all from them.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? The only thing else I see is their pay for support option which would be outrageous for me to have to turn to for a program that has yet to run once.

If anyone has any suggestion for a good contact person who will actually respond, I would greatly appreciate it!

Tim

Okay, in all fairness it has all worked out.

I took another look at the phone support page and saw that there is 60 day support for new software purchases.

I called and a VERY knowledgable and helpful tech helped me through a variety of troubleshooting before the error was tracked down. It took about 20 minutes.

The final remedy was creating another user account (in Windows XP) and installing it from there. That did the trick and it runs fine now. She believes there is some registry issue with the user account I had been trying to install it under.

Although I never heard back via email, the phone end of things was superb.

I guess that's good news but it doesn't fill you with joy if you live outside the US.

I don't know what's happening now. I have had very good results in the past. Did you go to Sony Website and use e-mail support.
