Try changing your project settings to wide screen as well.

To convert a project to Widescreen you should change your project to widescreen and then add a widescreen crop to each event. VASST Celluloid will do this correctly for you. You can use it for free if all you want to do is convert to 24p or widescreen (you only have to pay for the additional film looks).

Press Alt+ENTER and change the Template: to NTSC DV Widescreen (720x480, 29.970 fps) if you are using NTSC or one of the PAL Widescreen templates if you are using PAL.
