When i create an image in photo shop wth the size setting set
to "NTSC DV WIDESCEEN", why is it that when i bring the file
into a widescreen vegas timeline, i have to right click the file,
go to properties, then media, and then change the pixel aspect
ratio to widescreen?
If i don't do this, it doesnt show the true widescreen quality of the
image.....is there a way around having to go through these steps?
thanks.....
oh, info = (photoshop = cs5 / vegas = v9).......

AFAIK there is no widescreen bit for Photoshop to turn on to tell video programs that it is anamorphic. Vegas just sees it as 720 x 480 or PAL resolution.

Photoshop is just adjusting the preview so you can see what it will look like at widescreen. It is not changing the resolution of the actual file created.

I always use the square pixel WS ratio for images.

876x480 I think.

Save a screenshot to your computer while the preview is best/full with a WS project & that gives you the correct res.

876 is really close Stephen.
720 X 1.2121 (widescreen PAR) = 872.712
Round that up to 873 as that's what a screenshot says it is.

I create all widescreen graphics at 1920x1080 in case I want to use them in an HD project later.
