I have scanned some photos and drug them to timeline. The picture looks fine as a still, but when I use Pan/Crop to zoom in on a face, I get multiple horizontal lines moving in picture. Any idea what cause that? The photos are 4x6's and I scanned them at 300 dpi, saved as a jpeg.
do they move while the picture is in motion in the final render? (while zooming?) is the final format interlaced? are the lines sort of shimmering on little details?
if so, it is likely an interlacing issue. you can try the interlacing filter, or softening your picture.
if not, then i have no idea what you are seeing. maybe you can post a screenshot.
Thanks for your reply, and in answer to your questions: I have not rendered nor printed to tape, but lines appear in Preview Window (do you think they will go away when rendered? The final format will be NTSC DV.
render a short clip of a section that shows the lines. i'm guessing it's just an issue with the preview window since i use this technique all the time, and have not noticed the problem. have you tried switching the preview window to 'best' and turning on 'show at project size'? this will slow down the preview window, but you'll see exactly what Vegas will send to the renderer. also make sure your project settings are set to the NTSC DV template before doing these tests.
