Some cameras have a menu option that has to be changed to change the camera from dv-out to dv-in.

It say dv in as it is recording a blue screen. I tried another camera and the same thing records blue screen. But thanks.

Are you using a firewire connection between your computer and your camera? Or S-video?

It is actually two different sony digital 8s cameras and both were recording blue skreen. Something must have gotten corrupted, i guess. Anyway,
I just gave up and took vegas off and after defrag. i will try to put it back on and hope for sucess. I would just like to have it back as it was. I hope this takes care of it.
Thanks

Any chance that your camcorder is a European PAL model? Consumer EU camcorders have their Firewire inputs disabled for "legal" reasons.

John

Are the "Firewire inputs disabled for "legal" reasons." anything to do with import duty by any chance?

Ok, you've tried two cameras, how about a different firewire CABLE?
