Will there ever be a SVCD template in Vegas Video?
If so can anyone give me an ca estimate when please I can currently not work with any other formats and i am aware of that I can use Tmpegenc but it is realy a time takeing prossedure.
There are no SVCD templates in Vegas Video because there is no standard for SVCD's yet. The earlier versions of Vegas Video had SVCD templates, but they were removed due to compatibility problems with some SVCD authoring software. Check with the manufacturer of the SVCD software to see what parameters are required for authoring an SVCD their software, and then you can make a preset with those parameters in Vegas Video.
Actually, I have tried to create a standard SVCD mpeg with Vegas Video, but I believe their codec is not compatible. Compatible may not be the right word. But every time I try to make an mpeg 2 to svcd standards, the 4 programs I have used to make svcd's scan the file and find it incompatible, some say it is actually an mpeg1, other just lock up on it. A different codec may be in order.
QUOTE FROM SONICEPM:
Our MPEG encoder does not create valid SVCD files at this time. We are aware of this and plan on implementing this in a future MPEG plug-in update

Choxie is correct according to this SF person. This was posted only 10 days ago on this forum. I'm looking forward to the future MPEG plug-in update. It would be very cool. Ulead has a MPEG plug-in out for their software now that claims to be able to do VCD, SVCD, and DVD.
