Will Vegas 8 do 60p?

Hola all,
I've been wanting to move to hi-def for some time now so I'm finally selling both of my Canon XL1S' and getting a Canon XH-A1 and thinking about a Panasonic TM700K ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/674275-REG/Panasonic_HDC_TM700K_HDC_TM700K_High_Definition_Camcorder.html#reviews )
The TM700K shoots 60p; will V8 handle this?
Also, any opinions on how these two cameras will cut together? I'm sure it would take some tweaking but is it possible to get away with a 2 cam shoot using these 2 cameras? If not what other cam would be a good 2nd cam for the XH-A1 in the $1000 range.
Thanks very much,
Randy

Vegas 9 is happy with Panasonic TM700 files, and it even has the correct preset (framerate selection called "double NTSC" at 59.940). You need a pretty recent machine to play it back smoothly, of course.

By the way, if Sony really wanted to go the extra mile, they could display metadata from .MTS and .m2ts files. Most of the new camcorders record time & date, and exposure info of every frame! The open-source program ExifTool can display this info, but it would be convenient for it to be built-in to Vegas (or maybe could be, through a script or plug-in?)

Vegas displays most of that stuff for me from HDV m2t's & DV avi's.

Anyway... Vegas 8 can do 60fps. It can do whatever FPS you tell it to. If it's just an option just manually type it in via the project settings.

Thanks very much guys it's good to know V8 will handle it (I'm waiiting on V10 to upgrade). Does anyone know how these 2 cams will match up in post?
Thanks again guys,
Randy

The XH-A1 will have a better dynamic range than the TM700. The color accuracy will also be different between the two. I would expect the XH-A1 to have better color accuracy. And then you may see other differences in the images due to the Canon using ccd's and the Pany using cmos sensors. I would say it's a pretty safe bet you'll be able to tell the difference between the recorded images.

No

Why not? I've put 60p uncompressed avi's & image sequences in to vegas before & it worked as expected.
