Will Vegas Pro 15 have MIDI audio functionality ?

Will Vegas Pro 15 have MIDI audio functionality , just like in Acid Pro ?

And with all the MIDI automation features of Acid Pro.

So then I can use VSTi ( Virtual Studio Instruments ) in Vegas Pro.

And I could then also compose music right inside of Vegas Pro,without going to a different program.

ya know, it might be nice. That way they could kill Acid, and just make it more like ProTools. I'd be all for that.

What do you mean "kill Acid and make it more like ProTools ?"

Do you mean, "make Vegas Pro more like ProTools ?"

I would definitely like to see midi functionality inside vegas pro too.

I totally agree with brian_jordain about taking the features of acid pro, and putting it into vegas pro.

I don't! Because I don't need those features and sure don't want to pay extra for it or have it introduce additional bugs.

Yes, @BostonEditor, I was referring to the original post. Kill Acid, and by putting its MIDI and looping funcitons into Vegas, then it would be more like ProTools, but better! And don't worry, @OldSmoke, since we've all been running the 'current' version of Acid for (how many) years now, killing it in the future will by no means mean you can't still run whatever current version you have now. So, everybody's happy!

We have? I don’t even know what this drug-named thing is, and I certainly don’t want to pay for something I obviously do not need.

You may have been running ACID, I haven't because I don't need it and most certainly don't want to pay for it in a future version of Vegas.

If what ever you are looking for is an add on to Vegas you pay extra for it, that would be ok with me.

Acid Pro is still a highly functional programme as witnessed by the number of people who still use it long after its last update. I use Sibelius (now owned by Avid) and Acid to compose music for my videos. Acid and Vegas play nicely together and have a similar intuitive interface.

Rather than have a compromise amalgam of the two I would rather that Acid was first upgraded to 64 bit, and at the same time Vegas continued to have bugs and format handling worked on.

Maybe if and when Vegas is reworked with a new video engine might be the time to consider merging the two - if ever.

Both programs began development when computers were generally less powerful than now, and users may have been working with a single smallish screen. With a modern multi-screen setup it is often preferable to have severable co-operating programs open at once rather than trying to squeeze both functionalities into a single interface.

i just want an nle that scripts, shoots, edits both sound and video at a seriously professional level, oh, and can grade, rotoscope, create motion graphics, work with endless composite levels, and automatically put me up for an oscar / emmy / whatever.

meanwhile, i'll settle for something that gets me through the day without a crash / freeze / etc.,

Yeah, but since Magix owns Samplitude I don't see the point. Samplitude is a much better DAW and you can buy it right now.

Well, I was really hoping that they had MIDI support in Vegas 16, so that we can then compose music right inside of Vegas. I hope they are working on implementing it in a next update of Vegas 16.

Using virtual studio instruments right inside of Vegas is a great idea.
