win 10 borked 3 programs...

so, having imaged / backed-up my win 7 installation i installed 10.

a. install went as smoothly as it did on my other 4 pc / laptops. (all of which are working very well - much snappier and overall noticeably quicker. (some have a combination of: vegas / ppr / cs6 / cs5.5 / resovle / catalyst / etc on them). no problems with any software (so far).

b. install went as smoothly as above on my main nle pc (as in specs). HOWEVER: cs5.5 progs crashed, cs6 ps wanted to register as did ae, and though vegas fired up, my genarts plugins lost their licence.

c. i played a little and checked that the following worked ok (they did) - intensity pro, catalyst, resolve, sf 10, interestingly enough cs6 ppro and media encoder worked.

frankly i don't have the patience or interest in sorting out licensing or why these problems occurred. suffice to say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it ;-( hence, back to 7.

i still maintain that 10 is an improvement over 7, and would happily install it on any pc NOT running more esoteric software than usually found.

Not sure what's up at your end, ushere, but I've been running Windows 10 for quite a while (long before it became public) and haven't had any problems running anything. (Although I did need to reinstall a couple of programs.)

I think it's a great improvement over Windows 7 and 8 and I'll never look back.

I had to also revert back to 7 with a fresh install as the Windows 10 revert button would not work. I had loads of issues with rendering etc.

Win 10's been working great here since I got the upgrade. Trying to get another system @ home on it but it won't go, something with the way the drive is partitioned.

Sounds to me more like your issue is with the companies who say you're a thief, not MS. No adobe programs here and no issues. ;)

Steve Gresitti: You say "I think it's a great improvement over Windows 7 and 8 and I'll never look back."

With regard to performance -- not bells and whistles such as touch screen, icon squares, etc. -- what has it improved over Windows 7?

Just curious.

The OS reacts much faster. Start menu is much better (I switched back to the Win 8 one). Windows lock screen shows my calendar events (and update of some other apps I wanted on there). The UI look is much nicer then the Win 95 once we've been using. Right click on start menu is useful (was in Win 8 too). Search of files seems much faster.

Thanks Leslie. I have W7 on my production machine and am not anxious to go to W10.

ok, loaded 12 and all's good to go as they say with the exception of NO mp4 from ex1 - error decoding files? however mxf is fine though (interestingly they don't mention mp4 in input formats even though the beta versions happily played them?). anyway, trans from mp4 to mxf is no big deal anyway....

funny that i have no problems with inten pro card with any prog that uses it, other than with all catalyst products where it actually shows up but does sweet fa. such a shame really.
