Win 2K and CuBase 5. Wavelab or CD A?

I have been reading through the forum and have seen some pros and cons on Wavelab vs CD Architect. My computer is in the shop right now in need of a new CD burner so I am trying to understand my best software set up to determine the best hardware option.

I am operating Cubase 5.0 in Win 2K and I own CD A 4.0 and Wavelab 1.6 along with Waves AudioTrack. Oddly enough I have never used any of the above for mastering or burning as I had a ton of conflicts in the beginning with Cubase 3.5 and I burned with my Smart & Friendly software.

I am not yet aware of free patches to allow Wavelab 1.6 to work with Win 2K but I know the upgrade is about $150 CDN - would need good reason to cough this up at this time. Does CD-A 4.0 run in Win 2K or is tha upgrade required? Is it that much easier to use the Steinberg add ons with CuBase as opposed to CD-A? Any tips on burners?
other than to check the lists?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
