I have win 2k now but used to run NT where i had no
problem, every thing seams to crash under 2k, Vegas audio
won't even register :( are there any update to solve this?
Sounds like hardware problems. I have Win2k and have no
problems at all. If you have not done so already, install
DirectX version 8. The current release is 8.0a and there is
also a special "patch" for Digital Video too. I have Win2k
with DX8a and the DV patch and no problems.
I have WIndows 2000 with SP1 and DirectX 8.0a installed.
When I run Vegas Video, I get a message indicating that can
not load a module (it does not say wich), then Vegas Video
starts OK. When taking a look at the different modules, the
audio plugins are not loaded but the video plugins are.
Besides the audio plugins, every thing works fine.
Any ideas,
Are you running Vegas from an account other than the Admin?
If you answer yes to both questions, go to the control
panel, from the non-admin account, and repair the Vegas
install (there should be a button for repairing).
This "should" find any missing files and make sure the
install is correct. I had this problem with VideoFactory on
Win2k. No promises, but hope that helps.
Thanks jrsunshine.
I installed Vegas from the Admin account and only use that
acount to log in.
I do not have any Icon on the control panel to repair Vegas.
I did the following: I registered the plugins using
regsvr32. Now the error message box is gone, but I still
can not get the audio plugins.
I'm not sure at this point. Every machine can potentially
be different depending on the software you have installed.
It could be the order in which you installed certain
software. You might want to look at all of your software
which uses DirectX audio plug-ins.
Hopefully, someone from SF can chime in on this thread.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
same problem as I was having
Happily, I am back on DX 7 now and running vegas 2.0b
The 2.0d was no real upgrade for me.
There is still no hardware control for the mixer
Still no way to add send fx to a multi-output mix ( SF
anyway you could AT LEAST make the DX plug that does mono
to stereo asked for so MANY times, so we could use this??? )
Still no recallable fader groups
Still no VST
Still no low latency I/O system ( and NO not WDM as it is
44/16 only)
Still no batch converter
We've become aware of some confusion re installing DirectX
8. Please be aware that there are different installers
depending on your OS. This could be the problem some of you
are seeing.
I do have DirectX 8.0a installed on my Windows 2000.
I have run the System Info tool and reports that every
thing is OK.
I have installed Sonif Foundry 5.0 (demo) and it presents
the same problem. It does not load the audio plug-ins.
