WIN 7 back to VISTA WARNING!!! HELP?

I just took the plunge to Windows 7..... unfortunately it didn't work well with my audio hardware ( firewire crap). Anyways, while I was in the world of Windows 7 I edited some of my current Vegas projects, I needed to get some work done and wanted to see how Windows 7 played with Vegas.... nice I might add. But seeing how it didn't jive with my audio stuff I decided to go back to Vista 64. I went to open my Vegas project(s) and nothing would open. Keep in mind I installed Windows 7 on 6/19/2010. Everything prior to that date opens up just fine, everything on that date or later I get an error window. So I think I can safely assume that it's Windows 7 and it did something really bad to my Vegas files.... can anyone here help.

I did a freash reinstall of vegas, all my vegas files are on a completely different drive than my OS, it's all there but something has changed. And, I am running the latest build of Vegas with all the updates and servicepacks for Vista.

WARNING: if you go to WINDOWS 7 make sure everything is good to go before you open any Vegas projects.

Thanks

Hmmm, not sure what the problem might be, I go back and forth between Vegas v9.0e in WinXP and Win7-64 all the time with no issues. You say you get an "error window," but you didn't tell us what the error window said. That might be a clue...

The error reads:

"Error occured while loading project: Make sure you have read access to file/folder and that it's not corrupted"

I did check the attributes, I do have access.... corrupted...I guess.

You say go back and forth from Win XP and Win 7 all the time...Question, is that in XP mode under Windows 7 or a dual boot situation? It's comforting to know you are not having any issues. I hope that I can resolve this Windows 7 to VISTA issue. I'm not going back to Windows XP 32-bit.

I dual boot WinXP and Win7-64. I also have separate machine with either XP or Win7-64, I have been able to freely save and load projects on any machine and open them on any other machine. I have limited experience with Vista64. I've been quite happy with Win7, I think it's Microsoft's best OS since Windows 2000. What was the problem with your Firewire audio in Win7, lack of drivers?

Good news....

I guess I didn't run the Vegas update to 9.0e.... that worked. Scared myself...

Firewire issues.... I don't know exactly if it was Microsoft issue or a Sony ACID issue or a Presonus issue. But my latency and dropouts when to crap when I installed Windows 7. I installed all the suggested drivers from everyone involved. Oh well, I'll wait a little longer to see if OEMs come up to speed....

Thanks for your concern and postings. :)
