Win2k Preview probs

Anyone finding the preview shows one or two frames per second instead 30? Gets worse as movie progresses or much worse when quality set from draft to best quality too.
On MPG movie imports. Tried detaching the preview window, but it doesn't help.

1. Only Videofactory running.
2. Happens in all resolutions and color depths.
3. AMD 1GHZ thunderbird, 256M memory, lots of dma100 disk, Asus 32M Geoforce 7700 video, etc...
4. Post-rendered movies play fine in player, only the preview is hosed.
5. Does same thing on same machine with Win98 too before upg to Win2k pro.

Any ideas? Can anyone help?

Thanks!

MPEG is far from an ideal source format and you'll be lucky if you ever acheive full frame rate. The reason? The MPEG file must be decompressed on the fly and then conformed to the project settings. This is very processor intensive, hence the slow preview rate

It may be possible to set the project to match the MPEG size/frame rate/pixel aspect and get faster playback.
