If you want to improve the responses, you might want to edit that question so that it doesn't imply that Vegas isn't a professional editor.

Whoops. Didn't mean it that way! I love Vegas!

I was referring directly to a post in another thread that implied that the so-called "professional editors" had the timeline on the bottom, and that Vegas 7 could replicate that look. Just wondering if anyone has come up with some new window layouts that 1) they particularly like, or 2) emulates a more traditional NLE layout.

Thought it might be fun to see if Vegas handles more intuitively with a different layout.

There is no such thing as "über-layout" for Vegas because there is too many variables to take into account starting from available equipment; available desk space and your preferred workflow.

I myself do use a bit of unorthodox approach since my setup uses two monitors on top of each other. Thus the lower display is reserved purely for timeline and all the other windows can be found from the upper display, which in turn is divided horizontally in two Vegas docking areas and both of those two docking areas are divided vertically to two areas respectively. This will give me four separate areas for all views to show.
