Windows 10 Install

I just installed Windows 10 Pro in my old computer on a clean drive. Why no update icon? No "windows update" in the task bar services. No Classic Windows 7 Interface? It also didn't seem to download any updates except for the video card. Well it works so far. So how many years am I behind the times?

Windows 10 Update is accessible by R-clicking on the desktop, select Personalize at the bottom of the context window, select Home (top RH corner) of the Settings screen which should open, and then click on what should be the last menu item - Update & Security. Any mandatory updates should then auto-trigger. Optional updates apparently will only appear after manually clicking on 'Check for Updates' (according to an MS response on their Answers forum that I read some time ago). This way, you also get a chance to have a look at all the other options available on the Home page that might become useful for you at a later time.

A much quicker way is to type Update into the search bar on the task bar and select Check for Update which should be the top item in the suggestions offered.

On Windows 10 "Ctrl + Esc" is your friend.

Ctrl + Esc | Settings (Gear icon) to go to options. Here you can find Update & Security and other setting's sections.

Ctrl + Esc then start to type something to find & run installed program or options. Try to type 'Vegas' or 'Update'
