Windows 11 Optimization tips and tricks

Greetings!

Is there any Windows 11 optimizations I need to know about when running Vegas Edit 21? I will be strictly using my PC desktop for video editing purposes and I would presume I could start by shutting down Windows Defender Antivirus Programs, etc that may hinder my program from running smoothly.

Anybody have any pointers or suggestions?

Starting by Ars Technica you have Andrew Cunningham string of articles about the subject and their commenters also bring a ladder of good advice in there/*1.

#1 tip I've found most transformative:
Remove Copilot and web search from the start bar so you only search apps/settings/files:

REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search" /V BingSearchEnabled /T REG_DWORD /D 0 /F

Then restart Explorer or Windows.

#2 tip
Show full context menu when right clicking (avoids having to press 'show more options' every time):

reg add HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32 /ve /d "" /f

Then restart Explorer or Windows.
