I just recenty put windows 2000 on my computer and i want to be able to install the capture update so I
can capture still images and I also want to be able to save as the .mpg format. I have direct x 8.1 for
windows 2000 installed but neither of the updates will work. It says i need direct x 8.0 and the DV
update, I cannot install the DV update because it says I need direct x 8.0. Is the DV update not
compatible with win 2000? What is the solution, any help would greatly be appreciated.

The DV update is supposed to be built into DirectX 8.1 You might need to install directX 8.0 and then the DVupdate. I did this on a 2000 Pro box and was able to get into Video Factory once these two files were installed. They are available on the microsoft site.
