Windows gpu monitor accurate?

The Windows task manager now has a column for GPU, but it is always low - about 8 - 15%. But I have a AMD Fury x that has a line of lights that shows activity, and it shows 100% in heavy tasks like multicam preview and render.

In Process mode, the monitor breaks out 3D, Copy, Video Encode and Decode. So perhaps there are functions this monitor doesn't, well, monitor?

It was also strange that when previewing 6 video tracks in multicam mode in Preview mode the percent utilization was 8%, but when in Best mode with 3 of those 6 tracks not using the proxy files and showing 4k, the utilization when DOWN to 2%! Perhaps Vegas isn't using the GPU so much as the CPU, and the CPU couldn't feed the GPU as much work with the 4k files.

Well, Magix says they have lots of opportunity to use GPU more, and this Windows monitor shows that, but the light on the Fury x says it's already used 100%, so what is the truth?

Yes, I know. Read my 2nd paragraph.

The issue is whether this low Windows % GPU used shows Vegas could use a GPU much more in future releases, or it’s measuring functions video editing can’t use, so don’t expect much improvement- except AMD render.

I should have said my interest is in multicam preview, vs better speed with a wider range of fx. Multicam mode doesn’t even apply fx. And I have pretty good fps displaying only the selected track in Best mode. It’s try to select tracks in a 6 track multicam at 1 or 2 fps in Best mode that doesn’t work. Preview level with proxies for 4K have good fps, but the quality and large track names make it hard to see what a track really is.

I'd use GPU-Z to check GPU utilization instead of Windows Task Manager.
