WINDOWS MEDIA VIDEO FILES (WMV)

When I render my projects as a wmv file I can not get them to play
on my computer at work. I have read that maybe the codecs are not
installed. Does anyone know if this is the problem and if so you you
tell me where to get the codecs from. Or better yet, email them to me.
I tried installing Wmplayer version 7.00.00.1440 but my computer says
that an application error has occured. This is the same message I get
when I try running a WMV file.

You may want to try and install the Windows Media Tools to see if this helps at all (www.microsoft.com/windowsmedia). However if the Windows Media Player 7 will not install I would have to assume there is a more far reaching problem than Video Factory.

Not really an answer, just a comment on Microsoft's Media Player. I have a second backup PC with Windows 98SE installed and I upgraded from an earlier version, version six I think to the latest 7.xxx something. Well since I did, on that PC all MPG files play in Media Player upsidedown and as color negative, with reds showing as green and greens as red. All other file types play fine. Weird!

There are many players you can try besides Microsoft's Media Player. Dave Central is a good place to start
