Had the same deactivate/ reactivate problem with W10 update to 1903 (from 1809).  No other problems.  Only VP 15 needed reactivating VP16 was unaffected.

I'm able to stop Windows Update for at least a month(35 days).
One day before that point I always make a restorepoint (Backup) for going back when something went wrong.

Its messed up my plug in activation - what a joke - no problems any other software - just this one how does it happen

Still have issues outstanding since the Windows update dibacle.

Today I have rendered the same project multiple times fixing an error in the finished render project - only for the new render to be exactly the same as the before non fixed version.

How is that even possible - how is it rendering a project different to what is created in the timeline?

Its not confidence filling to spend more money on a new version - it has the opposite effect

Super bummer. Windows 10 online updates are pure evil. I am not a fan Microsoft's new model. The OS is fast, fast, fast but the updates straight suck as they inevitably interfere with some or all of the tools on your system and often load new features that you did not ask for. Who has that kind of time. Being online with Windows 10 is alot like AVID, high maintenance.

I decided to build my editing rig around the Windows 10 OS but without internet access. I get online for software updates, registrations and the like using another laptop and a quality high speed USB-c thumb drive. For two solid years this editing system using Vegas Pro 13 has performed flawlessly and without fear of a Windows update destroying my files or work flow. The nightmares I have read here and other places online about lost files and software operational issues due to Windows 10 updates have not been an issue for me at all.

I recommend a non-internet work flow for editing systems that use Windows 10 if your working situation will allow it. Everything remains stable and files stay where you put them. I have an ASUS G752VL laptop with 64GB of RAM, a 1TB 960 EVO Nvme system drive, a 2TB 960 Pro Nvme edit drive, a 4TB SATA media drive and Vegas Pro 13 all of which has worked just flawlessly. Titler Pro is the only hicup and it's so insignificant that I feel bad about mentioning it. And, all on Windows 10 version 1607- build 14393.

There was a strange bonus with '1903'.  My laptop which previously did not allow 'stereo mix' now does. Discovered this whilst resetting a few things the update reset.

Some online Windows experts are saying that some of the updates are out of sequence and the cost of the updates is becoming a factor.
