Works better than ever! Make sure you have the latest
2.0h update. In the 2.0h release notes it even lists
XP as one of the compatible OS's for Vegas Video 2.0h.

Before going with XP, you may want to read this thread first.

You might want to consider Win2K instead.

Regarding the previous post, he was running an unreleased version of XP. There were bugs in even the late XP betas that were fixed for the final release.

Vegas is compatible with XP.

XP is great. Works like a charm. Haven't had any problems with it. Also didn't need a single driver (except faster ones for my GF3 video card) -- the OS had 'em all!

There isn't much basis of fact in that wwug post. XP requires that at least six pieces of hardware (one of which is the BIOS) to change before reactivation is required. I've already swapped out drives and a few other things and haven't been forced to reactivate. Sounds like this guy was running a real early beta.

On a 'similar' topic - I was wondering if anyone has had luck with the Intro DV 1394 card under XP. The only reason I haven't moved to XP is I can't find anyone who can say either way. As far as I know, the card is based on the TI Lynx Chipset.

I am not privy to the Intro DV Card, but, generally speaking drivers and software that is already W2K compatible should work just fine in XP. XP, after all is really just the next generation of W2K. I have been beta testing XP(RC1) for the last three months and I have yet to find a W2K driver that would not work in XP. I was using a Matrox 1394 Firewire card(which is also W2K compatible) previously in WinME. When I first installed XP, in a dual boot with WinME, it automatically detected and loaded all of the appropriate drivers for all of my hardware sans my audio cards. My Matrox 1394, with the new SF 2.5 capture tool works perfectly under XP. XP already includes thousands of W2K drivers from most hardware released in the last 18 months. If your card is already W2K compatible you should be OK. If not, you will not be able to use it in XP.
