WinMorph as a plug in

DataMeister wrote on 6/19/2002, 11:27 AM
A month ago I noticed that WinMorph (a freeware morphing and warping program) was being developed as a plug-in for the developer's proprietary video software Beaver. So I wrote the guy and suggested that he develop for Vegas Video. He wrote back saying that was great possibility. Very cool.

I noticed today, that the web site has a little box to vote for which video software you use most. For any of you that are interested go on over and put in a vote for Vegas Video. Maybe it will ensure that Vegas plug-ins are worth the time. I think the guy is developing first for Adobe Premiere and AfterEffects.

It looks like my vote bumped Vegas way in the lead. :)

60 votes so far, and Vegas in lead, go Vegas!

Now I need to go to another computer and vote again :)

Are you ballot stuffers willing to pay list price for this plug-in?

List price = $0.0 (its a free plugin, at least for now)

I voted for VV, but Adobe Premiere has overtaken it. There isn't an individual count any longer so, I don't know how far ahead AP is.

I don't think the survey is really a contest. Obviously Premiere is going to have more users. But, I think that the Winmorph designers are now aware that Vegas has a resonable user base to justify creating a plugin.

The best thing we could do is to find the Premiere and Final Cut users who don't depend on hardware acceleration and show them what Vegas can do. And maybe SoFo will help a little with that too (toss out a little advertising). I mean you have to admit some of those Final Cut Pro adds are very alluring. If I were on a Mac I would probably have been saving to give it a try.

Of course keep in mind that in a couple more years of CPU evolution we can go after all categories, accelerated or not. Assuming SoFo keeps up the impressive develoment of Vegas.
