WinX HD Video Converter

Kind of a long shot here, but what the heck. I'm using this converter to convert my 5DII .mov to .avi (I've tried several others including Neoscene so I'm not asking for advice on other converters).

I like the conversions - they're about 1/2 the size of the original .mov files at default settings and playback well in WMP on my moderately powered computers. Problem is, Vegas Pro 8 only "sees' the audio when I import a file.

I've seen this thread

and have installed the x264vfw codec but to no avail (it did help with another converter I was using which had a similar issue with Vegas). I emailed WinX tech support regarding the issue a while ago but haven't heard back.

So... just wondering if anyone has used this converter and if they know which codec I need to get video in Vegas...

Download MediaInfo and post the file information.
There is a tutorial to get you started here:

looks like xvid did the trick:

for anyone interested, I'm getting 10-11 fps preview in Vegas 8 on a two year old Dell laptop (T7250 3GB) using these WinX converted 5DII .mov>.avi's. Not great but best preview yet for me for my 5DII video clips. And the WinX HD Video Converter - while not that fast - is free until the end of the day today.

EDit: preview is worse on my desktop machine and I notice audio is out of sync on both machines (I tried different audio encoding settings to no avail.)
