Would it be possible to put another Post Message button on the top of the message body as well as underneath it. On my 1024x768 screen the button is always under the message and I have to scroll to get to it. If there were a duplicate button or link above the body section (where I'm typing now) it would make it much easier. There have been several times where I've, dumb me, pressed the Back button before pressing Post Message and I lose everything I've typed. I have to press Back to get back to the list of posts from any particular expanded post so it's a habit to press Back when I think I want to go, um, Back :)

If I type a long message (like I did here) I can see the Post Message button and it remindes me to press it. Perhaps you could right justify the one below under the Body section and right justify a duplicate button above it as well?

Thanks,

Tom

Tom,

Do you mean the "Back to Vegas" button? If so, just press the Internet Explorer "Back" arrow and you will be back at your message. I just did that and everything is still here. Or, if you meant the browser "Back" button, just press the browser "Forward" button and you get back to the message body with your text still intact. I just did that, too. So far I can't reproduce what you did to "lose everything I've typed."

In my case, I pressed the IE Back button (on the toolbar) not the Back To Vegas link. I could see that either since it's not displayed on the screen while in the posting a reply screen ;)

It would be nice to be able to view the original post while writing your reply. I always have to use the 'Back' and 'Forward' buttons.

I'd rather see all the posts on my screen, not just what I'm typing.

Jon,

Just use the scroll bar to scroll up to the message that you are answering. I agree with you that it would be nice to have an option to see all messages simultaneously.

Tom,

Well, if you pressed the IE Back button, all you had to do then was press the IE Forward button and all would be well and your Message Body text would still be there just as you left it. I just now did that, before the beginning of this sentence, and didn't lose any of this message.

There are currently two views on the forums. There's a non-threaded view, in which you see the entire thread of a discussion (all messages on one page), and a threaded view where you see a single message and links to all the related messages.

In the second view you can reply to a message on the same page as the message.

If you'd like to try a different view than what you're currently using, here's what you need to do. Once logged in, click "edit account" just under the blue banner at the top of this page. Then under "Forum View", make your selection and click "Update Account".

I tried pressing the forward button, but the text that I had typed is gone. I know this is my stupid mistake and I've just retyped the message, but I also didn't think it would be much trouble to put another Post Message Button above the Body: so that's why I figured I'd ask.
