I would contact Sony Support for this. I haven't heard of this behavior before.

Try WMEncoder in case your installed library breaks what Vegas is expecting. You can frameserve with Satish's plug or convert from DV/uncompressed/MJPEG as an intermediate codec step etc.

If microsoft WMEnc bolts on you, you might have some icky memory (and almost every hardware component etc), which a number of free web tools might help you determine if a BIOS check "apparently" finds nothing.

1. Hyperthreading enabled or possible?
2. DirectX9b installed?
3. Any similar problems with MPEG-2 encoding, or non-DV codec media (generated in Vegas or outside using uncompressed etc)?
4. Always at the same point (if you are watching or recording the PC screen externally)?
