.wmv streaming problems

I cannot stream a .wmv file created in VV3.0a. It will play fine on my hard drive but not streaming from a server. An .asf file will stream fine. A .wmv encoded in a different program will stream fine, but not a .wmv file encoded with VV3.0a. Any suggestions?

Also, why doesn't VV still render out to .asf files? I realize Microsoft has switched to .wmv \ .wma files, but it sure is nice to have backward compatibility.

Thanks,
Alex

You CAN actually save the file as an .asf by simply changing the default .wmv extension to .asf when you're setting up your render. Haven't had any problems with that on my end.
