WMVCore.DLL Error

johnpete wrote on 2/20/2003, 8:15 PM
While playing around with my display adapter last night and screwing up (trying to get the S-Video to play on my TV on my ATI8500 card) it forced me to re-boot in the VGA mode (XP Pro). After I fixed things, including updating my driver, I get the following error:

The procedure entry point WMCCreateBackupRestorer could not be located in the dynamic link library WMVCore.DLL

every time I load an existing Vegas 4.0 or DVD-A projection. I just click through the errors, occurs about three or four times, and everything is fine.

Re-installed (repaired) Vegas 4.0 but it still happens.

Any thoughts?

John

Try reinstalling the Windows Media Player 9 and see if that fixes it. It's a free download from Microsoft.

Please let us know if this corrects the problem for you.

Did you install another application or service pack, or do a system restore? Something must have changed on your system, I believe that error comes from an out of date version of that particular DLL.

About all I can suggest is reinstalling Windows Media Player 9 since that does seem to correct the problem.
