Won't recognize my markers from Vegas

I rendered a project with vegas into seperate streams. (m2v & ac3) An .sfl file was also output, but when the .m2v file is loaded in DVDA 2.0 the markers are not recognized. When the same project was rendered into an .avi file and an .mpg (standard DVD NTSC template includig audio) the makers were recognized by DVDA.

Am I missing something? I want the markers as chapter points. I already set them once in Vegas and I want to archive them after I render the project. I don't want to reset them every time I use that piece as part of a DVD.

Usually you will use the MPEG-2 file with DVD Architect rather than an m2v file.

Why would I usually do that? I want two seperate elementary streams imported into vegas. If I used the mpg file that I encoded with the mpeg-2 codec DVDA would then have to re-encode the audio to ac-3.

Dumb question, but when rendering the seperate streams, is the "Save Markers" box checked?

Yes it is. And an .sfl file is generated. I've been playing around with the rendering settings. It seems that if you render to an .mpg file with no audio included DVDA recognizes the markers. However, if you use the exact same settings, but render to seperate streams (.m2v for video) DVDA does not recognize the markers.

So I guess the next question is: Is there any difference between an .mpg video file with no audio and an .m2v video file that were rendered using the exact same settings?

This is a bug. Either DVDA should recognize the markers of an .m2v or the .sfl file shouldn't be generated. I would recommend using the "DVD Architect NTSC video stream" or "DVD Architect PAL video stream" templates for now.

A .mpg video-only file and a .m2v file are different. The .mpg video-only file has a system layer which provides seek information. The system layer is very lightweight. A .m2v file does not have a system layer.
