I shot this with my Pentax K-X 3 years ago, forgot about and rediscovered it in my archives last week. Wasn't really paying any attention so it could have been a lot better, was running two HDV cams at the time for the real product. Should have probably turned them off and just used the dSLR:

Great stuff! If that's you in that picture, you ought to be IN FRONT of the camera as well! Action hero material...

No, that's not me unfortunately. Some guy with a funny accent who actually knows what he's doing! lol!

Bigrock, your link doesn't seem to work.

I fixed it, had an extra space there.

From that pic it looks like he could have bought ten Nex5's for the price of all the accessories needed to make it work for him.

You could invest in the NEX 5N in cine housing with cooling mod for the cost of a couple of NEX-5Ns.

The NEX5n is an awesome little super 35 camera. Its tiny. But full 1080 HD. Has the same sensor as the FS100 and F3 ! Only the processing is *much* reduced.
You can get seriously good images from the nex5n, i have the NEX5 (not n) and its brilliant. But the none 'n' version does not allow full manual exposure, you always get auto ISO which stops it being a serious video camera. However, i wrote a polite (begging) letter to Sony Electronics via a twitter DM asking if the NEX5 firmware could now include full manual mode like the 5N. They said they would take a look at it. One has to try!
Full 1080 HD out via mini hdmi, looks fantastic on a monitor or EVF.
Standard E mount, takes just about any glass you like with adapters.

Almost forgot, the last firmware update included red peaking focus assist.

Paul.

The inexpensive Nikon D3200 has full manual control and the same sensor as the NEX-7. You can't articulate it like the NEX though.
