I'm making a holiday video that will have chapters etc. I would also like the option on the DVD to turn on narration for the same video. This would offer the choice of hearing narration with the original sound & music turned down a liitle whenever there is speech.
What exactly would be the workflow for recording, saving & exporting the extra soundtrack to DVDA?
Line up the narration on another audio track in Vegas. Make sure it is in sync. Then render to a separate AC-3 file from the main AC-3 file that has the audio that is synced with your video. In DVDA, put the narration AC-3 on a separate track (you need DVDA 2.0). Use the DVDA features to let the user turn the narration on and off.
If you want the main audio AND the narration, then when you render the audio for the narration from Vegas, keep both audio tracks enabled so you get a mix of both.
