Working AVI, isn´t working.

Hi,

I have recorded a small movie with my digitalcamera... I can view the movie clip in both Quicktime player and Windows Media Player.

But when I import the movie in Vegas I can only hear the sound. The program says: "video: Stream Attributes could not be determined".

How do I fix this so I can import my movies into vegas, with both sound and image?

Ermmm.. is this the AVI1 format - people? - Wait for another reply from someone more knowledgeable than I. If it is the case to need to convert UP to AVI2. Canopus have/used givaway a free convertor for this process - As I say I could be very wrong.

Grazie

Most likely the video is in MJPEG (Motion JPEG) format. You'll need to install an MJPEG codec on your system.

MainConcept has one that is inexpensive and good quality; others can be obtained from Morgan Multimedia or Matrox.

Here's a couple of threads that turned up when I searched on MJPEG:

Do you run WinXP? If so, did you try opening those files in WinMovieMaker then render them in AVI or WMV? You should be able to play those rendered files...

had the same problem, my digital camera used some unrecognisible codec to encode avi movies and vegas was unable to read them, you better download virtualdub and encode the avi with a different codec like a divx or anything else that will be readable in vegas
