Working methods for feature length projects in Vegas

Hello all... I'm thinking of editing a close to feature length documentary in Vegas (60+ min.) Now, I've used Vegas to record music for years, and I know that things can get bogged down when there are a lot of events on the timeline. So with audio I tend to break up big projects into thier smaller components (Never more than 1 take of the band on the same screen) and then take the final mixes back onto the timeline for mastering.
I'd assume that I'd run into the same problem editing a project of this length on 1 timeline. So my question is, how do you guys go about working. Do you do 1 scene per timeline and then combine all of the rendered scenes at the end of the editing? The main problem I see in doing things this way is making sure that any filters/other plugs I use on the footage is consistant from scene to scene, but I can handle that with a careful attention to detail and saving a lot of presets in the plug ins.
Anyway, this is my first project of this magnatude, so any other advice would be welcome.

Matt

It doesn't matter. I've done projects longer than two hours on mostly one track. It really boils down to how you work. If you tend to jump around on the timeline a lot in your editing you may find a longer project more intiminating. On the other hand if you work through it beginning to end in order and where needed simply break out sections into events and slip them up on a second track just to get it out of the way for the present, there is really no disadvantage to having the whole thing on the timeline at once.
