Use either a screen capture (word11 has a good one) or find someone with Photoshop (CS4 or higher I think) and you can open a PDF, on multiple page file you can open the page you want.

If the image can be selected (from a text+image file), copy and paste it into any photo editor.

Irfanview, with GhostScript installed, is a free solution to open PDF and save it as an image.

Not terribly hard either way.

Depending on how the PDF file was exactly created - you may not realize that in pro pdf software like Adobe Acrobat Pro you have the option to export elements of a pdf page as a picture file - usually .tif format.

The great thing about this workflow is that if the pdf was created by import of a picture, the exported picture retains much better quality than you could achieve from any other methods as suggested above.

Most people don't have Acrobat Pro on their systems, and what I suggested does exactly the same thing, for free.
