My congregation has requested that I not put "video" or "moving backgrounds" behind the words to the music....some of them get dizzy.

What type of software are you using to display this. We use SongShow Plus and it has a feature that can automatically loop a video.

try particle illusion

u can create some very decent backgrounds, be they emitters or layers.

Can be subtle or intens, and for those photo-epileptics u can keep it as subtle as several stars fluing through.. nice and decent without any crap. Best thing is that these are so tweakable it isnt funny

PISe is less than a hundred bux and will do what ur wanting

David, Generated media would be the best way to do it, but I suggest looking to something like Ovation from serious magic, they make animated BG's that Loop in the BG, are designed not to be overtly distracting, and would probably be quite easy to access.

Loops are in whatever format you want to store them in. DV AVI will give you the best quality of that’s what you are starting with. You could use a high-bitrate MPEG2 but I would avoid MPEG 1 at all costs. (very poor quality)

The secret to making loops is to cut the event in the middle and then swap the left and right events and overlap them in center. The amount of overlap needed to make the transition smooth depends on the footage. They loop seamlessly because the point that you cut is now the beginning and end. The overlap is to hide the fact that the start and ending (which are now in the middle) are different.

For example:
Start with an event
+---------+
| |
| EVENT |
| |
+---------+
Split it into two parts A and B
+----+----+
| | |
| A | B |
| | |
+----+----+
Swap A and B
+----+----+
| | |
| B | A |
| | |
+----+----+
And overlap the middle
+----+----+
| | | |
| B |X| A |
| | | |
+----+----+
Hopefully this illustration helps.

There is a program called Axogon Composer that creates very nice background color loops - You can get a beta freeware version here.

I use this to create some very easy to view loops - You might find them usable.
