I stumbled across a very odd effect earlier today. I was doing a straight render to avi of a 3-minute portion of a DV tape capture. I discovered that the audio was playing backwards in the rendered avi!
I found through a bit of trial-and-error that the error is easily reproduced. Just highlight a portion of an avi on the timeline, and then tell Vegas to render to a new avi. But before rendering, put the cursor (scrubber) inside that highlighted section and run it backwards for a second or two using the JKL keys. When rendered, the new avi will have backwards audio!
If you use the JKL keys to play forward before rendering, all will be well, but somehow Vegas gets stuck in "reverse" gear if you run backwards and then ask for a render.
This may be a known bug, but wanted to mention it because I haven't come across it before.
