Write a script to export the audio track as an mp3 file at render time

Hi -- We will be doing the video coverage of an educational symposium with 25 speakers over a four day week. The client wants edited video files within minutes of the conclusion of each lecture -- as well as accompanying .mp3 files of the audio track. Does Vegas 22 already have a feature that will save the audio track as a separate file at render time? If not can I script this? I'm not a programmer -- can anyone do this for me? The alternative would be to simply render the audio afterwards, but due the considerable pressure on site, it's easier to set up the system to do this automatically. Most grateful for any assistance.

If you need both a video and audio file, you'll need to render twice. A script can certainly be written to export both - one after the other - but I don't know of a way to do both "at the same time." In fact, I have VEGAS render an MPG and MP4 file of the same church service every week (after editing) - one for upload to the TV station and one for creating a DVD. It does not do this "within minutes," though, as it takes just under a couple hours to render both - of course, this could be faster on a faster machine.

Finding Render Templates:

Render the Complete Project (basically, this technique would be called twice - once for audio and once for video/audio):

Depending on the "editing" that needs to be done, you may also look at live editing products. This would include products like NewBlue Captivate and OBS.

@BobThompson In VP22/23 using say h264 render template there's an option to un-check "Include video"

@johnny-s, why would you want a video format without video when you can just render to MP3 or WAV and get an audio only file?

The OP wanted an audio file. I overlooked that he specified .mp3.
