Write speed

Has anyone had any trouble with DVDAS getting a burner to write at the designated write speed. I specify 2.4x but it takes more than 18 min for a 16 min video. I then tried to write at a higher speed with Nero and it seems to write at the proper speed. I am using the same media for both programs , DVD + R and DVD+RW. Is it my burner or a problem with DVDAS? Has anyone run any tests using DVDAS? I have a Sony Burner and went to the Sony site and ran their tests and they said it was writing at the proper speed.

Thanks In advance
Billy

Have you compared the burn area on the DVD's between Nero and DVDAS? It could be that DVDAS is burning a lead out, where Nero may not be (+R doesn't require a lead out to take the DVD to 1GB); Nero does have a setting for burning a minimum of 1GB, the default is to not.

So if the burn area on the Nero DVD is less than the burn area on the DVDAS DVD, you've likely got your answer.
