wrong codec? Problems with WMP

I view my videos with WMP9...when I watch videos off the internet...they're fine. When I watch .avi files I captured with Vegas (despite how large they are), they play back fine. However, when I try to play videos I rendered with Vegas, they take forever to load and usually cause my system to lock up. This happens always with .avi files as well as .mpeg2 and .wmv. I've looked through the posts but can't find any help for this. Are there codecs I need to download? I use the MainConcept 2 default settings and the WMP9 default settings for 1MBPS.

Do you mean that you trying to stream those videos?. It could be that the server are you placing the file it is not capable to stream or have very poor bandwith.

sorry to confuse you...no, these videos are on my second hard drive. I have a few videos I downloaded off the interent on this drive as well that play fine. As do the .avi files captured with Vegas. It's just the ones rendered with Vegas that cause my system to crash.

Did you upgrade you windows by downloading the wmp9?. what avi setting are you using to render. I will not use the MainConcept (MPEG) fro rendering unless you are strap forfile size.
