wrong DVD burning

I am very frustrated with Vegas burning a DVD. It has been for quite some time a hit and miss. I have spoilt quite a number of DVDs because after my video is rendered and I follow all instructions with Show me How--burning a DVD, it does not burn the one that I've just edited. Instead, it burns a previous one. I've tried clicking on the radio button next to "Current project " and it burns a previous one. I've tried the other button next to "a previously prepared folder" (whatever that means). In the left pane the previous title comes up (I can't get rid of it) and I can't see what is being burned. I discover afterwards that it is the wrong one. I try again and click the other radio button, the correct title comes up in the left pane, but after the DVD is burned, I see it is still the previous video that has been burned although the title was correct. Can someone tell me what is going on with this software? Too many of my DVDs are being spoiled. How do I prevent those previous edited videos from appearing on the Vegas screen ? It seems that although I click on New, they are still there, waiting to pop up when I'm about to burn a DVD.
This is urgent. Please help.
Thanks.

You have to name the prepare folder with the name of your new DVD each time. Otherwise, it just prepares to the same folder it used last time.

So, instead of just clicking through, give it a new name when you prepare a new DVD. Then you will know which prepared project you are selecting.

I did give it the new name when asked, and as I said before, the name was actually in the left pane, so I was under the impression that it was the new video that was being burned. When they say "prepared project" I assume they mean rendered. Is that right? I don't know what I can do again. It is very frustrating. But how do I get rid of the previous ones popping up in Vegas. I don't want them to go to the recycle bin, that's why I haven't deleted them.

Thanks anyway.

Every time you prepare from a project, it puts the DVD in a folder on your hard drive.
When you "burn current project" it will burn from the last folder that project was prepared to.
However, if you prepared another project to the same folder, it will burn that dvd instead. Thus your confusion.

Start by finding which dvd is in which folder, and name them accordingly. Then, "burn from previously prepared folder" and not from the current project, at least until you get them sorted out. It would be to your advantage to prepare your current projects to new folders to save further confusion.

Thanks for the explanation . I was really confused about the whole procedure. I understand it better now and will try it your way.

Thanks a million.
